He’s better known as Dame Edna Everage, but Barry Humphries has been winning rave reviews for his current show with cabaret diva Meow Meow.
Setting aside his alter ego, Humphries brings his Weimar Cabaret show to the Barbican from 11-29 July. It’s a sophisticated and seductive tribute to the golden age of cabaret from 1920s and 1930s Berlin. Humphries provides witty anecdotes as well as a genuine passion for a colourful period in musical history. He even joins in with fellow Aussie Meow Meow on some of the risqué cabaret tunes. The Aurora Orchestra help out on reviving the saucy standards.
