CARAVAN

Can’t get to Caravan this weekend? Recreate their much-loved dishes at home instead. The Caravan cookbook is finally here. Caravan: Dining All Day is penned by the restaurant’s co-founders, Miles Kirby, Laura Harper-Hinton and Chris Ammermann. The book includes stalwarts such as the Jalapeño cornbread with chipotle butter and the sweet potato and chorizo croquettes with saffron mayo, as well as new ideas for breakfasts, brunches, lunches, afternoon tea, dinners, puds and drinks. There’s also a chapter devoted to coffee.

BARSMITH
Barsmith has gone tiki for the summer. The St John Street bar has had a tropical makeover, complete with carved Tiki God statues, palm trees and tropical plants.
The cocktail menu has some exotic new additions: think rum cocktails like the Zombie and Navy Grog and a classic Pina Colada. On-theme bar snacks include Huli chicken wings and Pulehu short ribs. The bar’s resident DJ will also be playing tiki tunes every weekend evening, and there will be events on throughout the summer. The pop-up runs until end of August.

MORO
Summer 2017 is busy for the Moro team. As well as marking the 20th anniversary, Moro is launching a bespoke catering company. Casa Moro will cater for family parties, intimate dinners, weddings and corporate events. Morito head chef Marianna Leivaditaki will create seasonal menus
full of North African and Middle-Eastern flavours. If a mezze of aubergine with mint, chilli and spiced labneh, humous with spiced lamb and pine nut and salt cod croquetas sounds more appealing than mini quiches, then you know where to go.
