Sharpen up your knife skills at The Quality Chop House this summer. The acclaimed Farringdon Road restaurant is running butchery classes twice a month. There are two types of class: general butchery skills and animal-focused workshops.

At the first you’ll learn all about the art of butchery, how to sharpen a knife, joint a chicken and how to prepare impressive dishes like porchetta and French-trimmed rack of lamb. The second focuses on one type of meat per session: beef, pork or lamb. You’ll learn about different breeds and cuts, as well as nose-to-tail butchery. All sessions are for small groups of eight, and finish with a communal meal in the restaurant. Vouchers for the classes are valid for 12 months, and the restaurant also offers private butchery classes on request.
