Benedict and the Bard are coming to Clerkenwell next year.

Booking details will be announced in May for Hamlet, which – in case you hadn't heard – runs at the Barbican from 5 August to 31 October 2015. The 12-week run of Shakespeare's great tragedy will be directed by Lyndsey Turner, following stage hits Posh and Chimerica. Producer Sonia Friedman described Benedict Cumberbatch as "one of the most gifted actors of his generation". His fans have already been flocking to Clerkenwell: the series two finale of Sherlock, in which the detective appeared to plummet to his death, was filmed at St Bartholomew's Hospital (Barts).
