On Wednesday, 15th February 2012 a marvellously eccentric event will be held in the sixteenth century setting of St John's Gate, home of the Knights of St John. On the night after Valentine's Day, a celebration of modern chivalry will take place over a delicious feast of food and wine, to the accompaniment of dramatic swordplay, marvellous music and one or two Shakespearian lovers' rows. There will be a demonstration of Bartitsu, or how to defend your partner using a bowler hat, a cane and an umbrella, and instructions on the useful Art of Modern Chivalry, or how to please a lady or gentleman without having to do anything, well, rude. Couples, groups and above all singles all welcome! Tickets from This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
