If you're tempted to go and see the big Valentine's movie release, Fifty Shades of Grey starring Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, don't forget the Clerkenwell connection.

Artist-turned-director Sam Taylor-Johnson lived in EC1 when she was still Sam Taylor-Wood. She is believed to have lived in the Peabody Estate at Pear Tree Court and later opened a studio space in Clerkenwell. And she once worked as a barmaid at Vic Naylor's in St John Street when it was a hangout of the Young British Artists in the late Eighties.
