Clerkenwell is famed for its creativity, so the latest venture in EC1 should fit right in.

Room One, based in Berry Street, is described as a space dedicated to developing new ideas within all disciplines of the arts. It boasts a studio, gallery and study as well as a residency programme. One of the first resident artists is Alaa Minawi, whose installation My Light is Your Light (pictured) is a tribute to Syrian refugees. The work was supported by Room One and recently premiered at the Amsterdam Light Festival. Room One also offers a membership scheme, space for hire and courses in method acting from James Kemp, whose former students include Michael Fassbender, Tom Hardy
and Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke.
