Here’s a date for the diary: Cockpit Arts will be holding its spring open studios event on 8-10 May in Northington Street.

It’s a chance to meet and buy direct from the 170 designer-makers in a site devoted to independent businesses. Designers taking part include milliner Emma Yeo, whose stunning headpieces (pictured above) combine cutting-edge technology with craftsmanship and take inspiration from architecture. The event takes place during London Craft Week, which celebrates craftsmanship across the city. Cockpit Arts is a social enterprise focused on nurturing craft businesses.
