This spring marks 200 years since the birth of one of Britain's best-loved writers – Charlotte Brontë.

Forty years after punk shook up the capital, the challenging sound and style are being celebrated in the year- long Punk.London festival.

It’s not long until our neighbourhood welcomes its annual design celebration, Clerkenwell Design Week, on 24-26 May.

 

Sound & Movement, taking place on the 2nd of April in the great hall of the Old Finsbury Town Hall on Rosebery Avenue, will feature three world premieres of new works of experimental music and movement featuring some of the most exciting young composers, choreographers and performers in London.

 

April 2016 marks 400 years since the death of Shakespeare, so look out for local events as part of a nationwide programme.

Clare Burnett’s PINK is a new exhibition (until 28 November) at the William Benington Gallery, which is based in Arlington Way and specialises in sculpture.
