Oh la la – It’s Bastille Day! (13 – 14 July)
On Friday 13th and Saturday 14th July, Clerkenwell will be celebrating all things French! For two days, in St John’s Square, (between The Zetter Townhouse and Bistrot Bruno Loubet), there will be a boules competition, BBQ, and slow bicycle races. In the evening there will be a French Feast at Bistrot Bruno Loubet.
Everyone is welcome to enter the Boules competition, (to enter a team is £10 with proceeds going to Action Against Hunger and there are prizes to be won). On Saturday 14th however, some of the capital’s most well known French chefs and restaurants will be battling it out for the title of Pétanque champion.
Bistrot Bruno Loubet will be manning the barbeque, The Zetter Townhouse and St Germain will be looking after the cocktails and an accordionist will provide the soundtrack for the guinguette!
In the evening, there will be a Fabulous French feast at Bistrot Bruno Loubet. The menu includes Bruno Loubet’s interpretation of some popular classics including; Sautéed frog legs, mousseline potato, parsley & garlic jus, Aberdeen Angus steak tartare with summer truffles and Crêpes suzette, orange & cardamom ice cream.
