On the tracks
Here’s one for your inner trainspotter: Mail Rail: A Photographic Exhibition showcases more than 150 images of the Royal Mail’s underground railway by photographer Jonathan Bradley.
The exhibition at The Bristish Postal Museum and Archive in Bloomsbury, celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Post Office (London) Railway Act 1913, which allowed Royal Mail to construct a trainnmetwork under the city. When Mail Rail opened in 1927 it transported parcels from Mount Pleasant Sorting Office in EC1 to Paddington. It was also the first network to run driverless trains, but was mothballed in 2003. The exhibition runs until further notice.
