Sherlock in EC1
The game is afoot in Clerkenwell. Sherlock fans may have to wait another year for more of the BBC series, but there’s plenty to discover at a major new Holmes exhibition.
The Museum of London will display the Belstaff coat and Derek Rose camel dressing gown worn by Benedict Cumberbatch, alongside a previously unseen Sidney Paget portrait of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It was Paget who famously gave the detective a deerstalker in The Strand Magazine (including this 1892 illustration). The exhibition opens on 17 October and runs until 12 April, 2015.
Tickets are priced £8.50 to £12. And look out for EC1 author Anthony Horowitz’s new novel Moriarty, set in the world created by Conan Doyle.
